  • About TJ Mouhon

    When asked to describe TJ Mouhon, his clients inevitably mention his relentless work ethic and gloat about his optimism concerning health and fitness. It’s no surprise, nor coincidence, that Mouhon hits the sunrise in his native Houston’s Memorial Park, encouraging his clients (affectionately called his Fit 2 A T family) to push further than the day before. In the same fashion, Mouhon’s parents promoted a healthy lifestyle early in his adolescence, nurturing him with all-natural holistic foods and multi-vitamins, giving him the stamina to participate in martial arts, taught by his own father who has a 3rd degree black-belt himself. Thus, Mouhon witnessed and became privy to both the sacrifice and reward of healthy intake and routine exercise. With a duo of super parents and strong African and Caribbean lineage, Mouhon excelled effortlessly in his early sport and health pursuits, even approaching marathon distances at the tender age of seven.

     

    Bringing along a degree in both Communication and Kinesiology, not to mention a lifetime of dedication to health and fitness, Mouhon naturally became an MVP of his first employment team. During his 4 year tenure at Bally’s Total Fitness he received unprecedented praise and awards, yet he sought to rejuvenate the idea of health and fitness. Rather than simply encouraging his clients to implement a healthy diet or to work out for vanity’s sake, he recognized the need to set the same foundation for them that had been set early in his own childhood. Health and fitness could not be achieved as separate entities, but only as a complete lifestyle. Mouhon had, after all, been living proof of the advantages of healthy living. And, so, after using his own life experience and expertise as a blueprint, the appropriately titled Fit 2 A T agenda was born.

     

    Mouhon speaks lovingly of those who’ve taken on the Fit 2 A T challenge, gradually strengthening their bodies, but more importantly, recognizing more and more each day what it takes to truly live healthy lives. The peace of mind and increased quality of life that one can gain through health and fitness is invaluable, which is why he shuns aimless routines and average dieting. Mouhon’s goal for his clients is not to promote dependency on his expertise, but to teach them enough to become and remain self-reliant. His goal for himself has been to dedicate his life to acquiring even more knowledge to bring back to his clients as he pursues his CSCS and Masters in Nutrition, adding to his portfolio of NASM, ACSM, and AFFA.
